The first ever Blackpool Games took place on Sunday (30/9) and nearly 200 children attended the fun family sports day at Bovey Tracey Cricket Ground and tried their hand at a selection of sports including: cricket, athletics, hockey, rugby, netball and football. The fundraising event which was open to all age groups and abilities was organised by Blackpool School’s Parent Teacher Association, FABS, and was supported by Tony Pryce Sports. Event organiser and parent at Blackpool School, Mark Gribble commented: “It was a great afternoon with a really good atmosphere and we were delighted to see so many kids taking part and enjoying sport. The point of the afternoon was all about encouraging kids to have a go at sports and to make sport fun and accessible for all. Thanks to a number of local sports clubs and Bovey Town Council over 170 kids enjoyed an active and sporty afternoon and helped raise funds for Blackpool School at the same time.”
